Enhanced programs to support your Wellbeing

We work for a very unique company, where we're encouraged to bring our best selves to work every day. The only way we can do this is by staying healthy. So that's why we're shifting toward a holistic approach to our benefits programs with a focus on your entire wellbeing.

What's wellbeing? It's everything that nourishes the mind, body, and soul, from physical and mental health to financial stability. With that in mind, I'm excited to announce some fantastic benefit enhancements that will take effect in the coming weeks.

Increase to 401(k) Match

We’ve made significant enhancements to our 401(k) program to help you save more money. Effective March 1, we’re increasing from a 50% match up to 6% of your salary (with a $4,000 max) to a 100% match up to 6% of your salary (with a $5,000 max). That means that if you save $5,000, Salesforce will match it with $5,000. In the current plan, you have to save $8,000 to get the full $4,000 match.

We realize as well that the topic of retirement planning is complex, but also very important. To help, we'll be offering several retirement planning events hosted by Fidelity in June. Stay tuned for details.

Expanding Flexible Time Off

Taking time away from work to recharge is key to maintaining your wellbeing. So, beginning March 1, U.S. exempt employees in grades 7 and 8 (i.e. managers and senior managers) will shift to a flexible time off plan (the same as U.S. directors and above). Please be sure to discuss your time off with your manager and get prior approval.

On March 31, eligible employees will receive a payout for their paid time off balance as of February 28. More information is coming soon!

More Ways to Take Care of Your Ohana

When we talk about Ohana, we're also talking about your family at home—because we know that your loved ones are the most important parts of your life. See below for programs that can help your family flourish.

Enhanced parental leave: We will provide six months of leave to primary caregivers in the U.S. later this year and continue to enhance this policy on a country-by-country basis in accordance with applicable laws through FY18. Stay tuned!

Milk Stork for nursing mothers: If you're a nursing mother traveling on business, Milk Stork is a new resource to help make feeding easier by providing you a hassle-free way to ship breast milk back home.

College guidance: Bright Horizons' College Coach program will provide you and your family with information to support your child's academic journey, with a focus on admissions and college financing. This program kicks off in Q1.

Personalized Healthcare

We're now offering several truly next-level benefits that can help you plan for your future medical needs.

Genetic testing: We've partnered with Color Genomics, a testing service that helps you understand your risk for the most common hereditary cancers and provides complimentary genetic counseling. You can order a testing kit for $249 and recoup the cost through the monthly wellness reimbursement plan.

Medical expert opinion services: Coming soon, employees and their dependents, including parents and parents-in-law, facing severe and chronic health conditions will have free access to an expert medical opinion (EMO) service. You will be able to find world-class specialists so you can make informed decisions about your—and your loved ones'—health.
