Welcome to your Salesforce Canada Benefits! We know that in order to do our best work, we must first take care of ourselves. With that in mind, we strive to offer comprehensive benefits packages that are inclusive of our full Ohana and support you and your family in all stages of your life journey.
So, what do benefits at Salesforce look like? Watch this short video for a quick overview or check out this quick Benefits Summary:
Now let's dive into the details:
Let’s start with eligibility. You’re eligible for company-sponsored extended healthcare coverage if you work at least 20 hours a week and are a resident of Canada. Your dependents become eligible for coverage on the day you become eligible for benefits or the date they first become your dependent, whichever is later.
You can cover your spouse or partner of the opposite sex or same sex as a dependent. You can also cover your children and your spouse’s children if they are not married and are under the age of 21.
Your coverage is effective as of your first day on the job. That’s right—there’s no waiting period! So spend time carefully reviewing your benefits offerings and find out how you can start taking advantage of these amazing benefits right away.
New employees have 30 days to sign up for benefits and it can take up to 2 weeks for your enrollment to take effect. Note that after you enroll, you won’t be able to make any changes to your benefits unless you have a qualified life event.

We all need time off to rest and recharge, so you get paid holidays, Vacation, and Volunteer Time Off.
Vacation or Paid Time Off (PTO) starts at 15 days per year, plus up to four personal days per calendar year, in addition to Provincial and Federal holidays.
To help you give back to your community, we offer up to seven days of paid Volunteer Time Off (VTO) per year.
In addition we offer a variety of leaves to cover all expected and unexpected life moments:
- Global Family Care Leave for employees to care for a seriously ill or injured family member.
- Medical Leave for employees to care for their own health condition.
- Parental Leave to support employees if they are a primary or secondary caregiver.
- Sabbatical to help employees recharge and engage in personal pursuits. You get one week of unpaid sabbatical for each full year of employment. You can take it a week per year or bank it and take it in larger amounts at a later date.
- Personal Leave for employees needing to step away for personal reasons or those who may have exhausted all other time off benefits.
To support you in all areas of your wellbeing journey we have additional benefits available to help you Nourish, Revive, Move, and Thrive.
Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
We believe in sharing success. That’s why we offer the ESPP, which gives you the opportunity to purchase Salesforce stock shares at a discount.
Here’s how it works:
- Each year, there are two special enrollment periods for the ESPP: May 1–31 and November 1–30.
- When you enroll, you choose to contribute between 2% and 15% of your eligible compensation to purchase the shares on an after-tax basis.
- Shares are purchased on June 15 and December 15.
- The amount you pay for the shares is determined by using the lower of two prices—the offering date price or the purchase date price—plus an additional 15% discount.
